“Follow Through”
Listen & Download
Follow Through by Jon Wayne and The Pain builds upon the success of the group’s self-titled 2008 debut album, once again showcasing their unique mix of reggae, ska, acoustic blues, and dub that fans can’t get enough of. This signature sound continues to gain traction across the U.S. and beyond.
Making guest appearances on the album are Slightly Stoopid’s horn players and percussionist Christofer “C Money” Welter, Daniel “DELA” Dela Cruz, and Oguer “OG” Ocon. Minneapolis hip-hop artist Yoni also contributes to the album with a unique indie hip-hop meets roots-reggae track.
The album was recorded by Lewis Richards at his 17th St Recording Studio in Costa Mesa, CA. Richards has produced albums for Slightly Stoopid and has production credits on Sublime’s self titled album.

Self titled debut album
Listen & Download
The trio’s debut full length, Jon Wayne and The Pain, was first released in May of 2008. Wayne had played acoustic shows with a few fiends in Fargo in a project called Happens Often.
After moving to Minneapolis and forming Jon Wayne and The Pain, the catchy original tunes multiplied while practicing and playing house parties at Wookiefoot’s infamous Playhouse. During this time Jon Wayne and The Pain would define their own niche in the Reggae-Rock genre.
Wookiefoot singer/songwriter Mark Murphy took Jon under his wing to record the band’s debut album. Murphy makes numerous appearances on the album playing anything and everything from keys to lead guitar to hand drums. Minneapolis emcee Yoni, who you might remember from Matisyahu’s “Live at Stubbs” collaborates with JWP on the track “None More Dat”
This well crafted album would propel Jon Wayne and The Pain to national status. These songs, undeniably classics, at least in the local Midwest tribes, are easy singalongs at festivals where the crowd nearly drowns out the band’s shirtless front man.
